The short version

There are no accounts, so we never ask for an email address, a password, a phone number or a date of birth. We do not use cookies, we do not run advertising, and nothing here follows you to other websites.

The only thing that identifies you is a display name you type in yourself, and you can change it or clear it whenever you like.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember a few things between visits. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us except where noted below.

It holds the display name you chose, your sound preferences, your language, and your result for the current daily puzzle. Daily puzzle results older than the previous day are deleted automatically. A short-lived session identifier is kept for the duration of the browser tab.

Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes all of it, and the site will behave as if you were visiting for the first time.

What the game server receives

When you play a multiplayer game, your display name and your in-game actions are sent to our server so it can run the match and show your moves to the other players in it. Anyone in the same match or lobby can see the display name you chose. Please do not use your real name if you would rather not share it.

When you play the daily puzzle or a solo game, your device requests the puzzle and reports whether you solved it or gave up, so the site can show how many people solved that day's puzzle. That count is aggregate and is not linked to you.

As with any website, our server and our hosting provider record standard technical request data, which includes IP addresses. This is used to operate and secure the service.

Chat in private lobbies

Lobbies include a chat box. Messages you send pass through our server so they can be delivered to the other players in that lobby, and they are rate-limited to prevent spam.

Do not share personal information in chat. Anyone in the lobby can read it.

Who else is involved

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and the game server runs on our own infrastructure. Cloudflare processes requests to the site as part of delivering it, under their own terms.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages people open and how fast they load. It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, builds no profile of you, and cannot follow you to other sites. Because it identifies nobody, there is no consent banner to dismiss.

We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no advertising pixels on the site.

Children

The site is a general-audience football trivia game. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because it does not ask for personal information at all.

Your choices

You can change or remove your display name at any time from the site's settings, and clearing site data in your browser erases everything stored locally.

Because we do not hold accounts, we generally hold no personal data about you to export or delete. If you believe we hold something that relates to you, contact us and we will look into it.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
